Long Sutton Hockey Club – a brief history
Long Sutton Hockey club was founded in 1923. At this time there was both a Long Sutton Hockey Club and a Holbech Hockey Club. So it was realised that one club had a ground, but few players and the other players but no ground! An amalgamation was agreed. In the 60’s the club moved to Cinder Ash, Long Sutton. The club proceeded to build a club house, and acquire a second pitch. The club continued to produce many county level players. Long Sutton Hockey Club – the present day
Long Sutton Hockey Club still retain their clubhouse in Park Road, but now have additional use of the changing facilities at the new Peele Leisure Centre. Long Sutton Hockey Club have always been associated with producing many players over the years – both male & female – who have gone on to play at higher levels; from County schools to Full County, Regional representation and onto Full Internationals...[more] |
