Long Sutton Off the Hook

  Long Sutton were let off the hook at the weekend.  Defeat at Brentwood should have proved disastrous for their Norwich Union East League Division One promotion hopes.

  But the luck was with themas fellow promotion contenders Havering, Bedford (both lost) and Romford (drew) slipped up.

  "We're still fifth, still in the hunt and we've been let off the hook really," said spokesman Mark Riddington.

 Sutton played well at Brentwood but could only score once through Eddie Sly.  "We had 65% of the play and couldn't score.  They had three shots and scored three goals" said Riddington.  "We have to make sure it doesn't happen again."
