It's D-Day for Sutton Firsts

Saturday is D-day for Long Sutton firsts.  Sutton in fourth take on second-placed Bedford in Division One of the Norwich Union East League.

  "I think this game wil decide whether we'll be going up or not," said skipper Mark Riddington.  "Bedford are a fit, strong and experienced side.  We're expecting a very fast game.  We've done well against the top sides this year.  We seem to raise our game against them and I'm confident Bedford will be no different."

Sutton did their promotion chances no harm on Saturday.  A 3-2 win at Peterborough Athletic, with Mark Simpson, Eddie Sly and Martin Cooke on target, was followed with the news that the top three had all drawn.
