Sutton's Blue team got promoted last session to join their more experienced colleagues in the elite group. It was always going to be a stiff challenge for them, but they coped really well and were never outclassed in some very close matches.

Jingle Bells, Under Twelves,

Blue Team played real sweet,

They did not score, but could not do more,

Mixing with the elite.

The Synnott boys made lots of noise,

Frazer showed his class,

The girls at the back, stopped all attacks,

Josh Baker made a pass!

Oh, Jingle Bells, Charlie Hill's

A new goalkeeping star,

They may not have won, but they all had fun

This blue team's going far!

The Green team once more played some sensational hockey and in five matches only allowed the opposition one shot on target.

Results: Beat Long Sutton Blue team 2-0 (Portass, White), beat Lincoln 1-0 (White), Drew 1-1 with Louth (Portass), Drew 0-0 with Alford, Beat Spalding 2-0 (J.Carr, White)

Team: Jeorgia Carr, Macy Carr, James Cudlipp, Leah Goodley, Matt Goodley, Ed Lanning, Kane Portass, Will White.

O Little Town of Long Sutton,

Prick up your ears and hear.

Your junior team played like a dream

For the third time this year.

As in the wind at North Hykeham

Green Under twelves did play,

Your hopes and fears for future years

Were unbeaten today.

How silently, how craftily

 does Jeorgia pass the ball!

But ears can't fail to hear the wail

When Matt and Leah call.

Ed Lanning always steals the ball

from an unsuspecting foe,

And with James in goal the strikers know

There's still a long way to go.

When time is short and goals are sought,

Then Kane and Will come through.

In Macy Carr a future star,

She's fast and skillful too.

Salute Green Army under twelves

They're number one for sure.

Success and fun, a great year's done,

So here's to many more!

Many thanks to all our juniors for their hard work and commitment throughout 2011. Much respect to all the club members that have come and helped with coaching. A special thanks for all those parents who come and support us, and give up their time, especially so close to Christmas when there is so much else to do.

First coaching session in the New Year is 7th January. Look forward to seeing everyone then.

Oh, and Happy Christmas to everyone!
