Long Sutton were away this week at Ely City and started the game with lots of attacking runs down the wings from Sophie Hart and Charlene Leuty. The first goal came from a goal mouth scramble to see Leuty knock the ball in. Sutton kept on the pressure with Ely having very few attacks. The second goal came from a short corner, that Melissa Ludlam slotted in whilst the ball was airbound. The third goal came from another short corner that Ludlam deflected in on the post. Sutton then lost Sally Cade to injury, putting them under a bit of pressure. Jess Hudson followed shortly after, getting hit in the eye with a stick. This put Sutton under a lot of pressure, which allowed Ely to grab two quick goals. Sutton still managed to hold on to their well deserved lead, even with an injury struck team. Player of the Match was shared between Rachael Gadsden and Melissa Ludlam.
