Long Sutton Ladies encountered much better temperatures this week. Cambridge University started strong and had a lot of attacking play, but the Sutton defence stood strong, with some fantastic defensive work from player of the Match Sally Cade. Sutton seemed to struggle to make any attacking play during the first half, being thwarted by some exceptionally specific umpiring and defensive set ups by Cambridge University. They then went on to concede only the second goal of the whole season to put them 1 - 0 behind. This really spurred Sutton on with every player working their socks off to try to level the score. This saw Rebecca Kierman, Melissa Ludlam, Sophie Hart and Louise Southgate having numerous attempts on goal, but every one was defended well by Cambridge University. A very disappointed Sutton were very unlucky not to score, which means they saw their first loss of the season and defiantly the last.

Report by Mel Ludlam.
