Long Sutton were away this week with a depleted squad, leaving the 2nd team unable to play and concede their game. Even though it seemed like a hard task ahead, Sutton started strong. Within minutes they were 1 - 0 up after Melissa Ludlam slotted in a deflection from a short corner. Against the run of play Bourne Deeping scored two quick goals. Sutton then found their stride again and managed to even the score with Louise Southgate scoring her first goal for the club. Again against the run of play Bourne Deeping were awarded a goal that did not seem to be touched in the 'D', after the decision was questioned it was rescinded and the score remained 2-2. Sutton then found their game again having numerous attempts on goal, with great attacking play down both flanks. This allowed Sutton to score their 3rd goal of the game, seeing Leanne Woodhead slot home a rebound from a short corner. Sutton continued to put the pressure on the Bourne Deeping defence and sealed the win with a final goal from Rebecca Kierman, who made a fantastic solo run. The game finished 4-2 with Melissa Ludlam being named player of the match.
