Long Sutton Ladies started this half of the season top of the table and went into their first game back after Christmas very positively. Despite this they started the game very slowly, letting Nomads put too much pressure on the defence. Sutton ended the first half 1 - 0 down. After a very enthusing half time team talk, Sutton started the second half stronger, but this did not last long and they were then 2 - 0 down. This seemed to make them more determined and Robyn Gribble grabbed a goal back, after dribbling the ball around the last defender and keeper. Soon after Gribble again dribbled the ball across the D and slotted the ball across the face of the D for Charlene Leuty to level the score. They continued to apply pressure and Sutton had numerous goal scoring opportunities to take the lead. Sutton thought they had taken the lead in the later stages of the second half, after Melissa Ludlam had a solo run and hit the ball home from the top of the D, but it was disallowed because neither umpire saw that it was inside the D. Sutton were very unlucky not to take the 3 points, which saw them drop to second the league table. Player of the match was shared between Tania White and Sally Cade.
