Long Sutton Ladies 1st Team started their pre-season with a friendly game away at Norwich Dragons, who are in the league above. With a changed squad it took Sutton the first 10 minutes to settle into their new formation. They then took control of the game to go 1 - 0 up with Robyn Gribble Smashing the ball in from the top of the D. Sutton then let Norwich into the game, letting two goals in to put them behind. Sutton stepped up their game, with lots of end to end play, with the watching crowd enjoying every moment. Sutton equalled the score just before half time with a goal mouth scramble to see Gribble knock in her second goal. The second half was much the same as the first, with loads of brilliant play from both teams. But Sutton took the lead again from a short corner, that Melissa Ludlam swept in to the bottom corner. Nearing the end of the game the Away team thought they had won the game, but to their dismay Dragons equalled the score yet again in the dying seconds. Gemma Parr took away the award for player of the match, with amazing defensive play throughout the whole game.
