Long Sutton showed their battling qualities last Saturday by coming from two goals behind to win 3-2 in the second friendly of the season. Sutton started brightly and came close to opening the scoring through a great run from Will Cook.  Sutton were controlling the play but it was Pelicans who opened the scoring through a short corner. Both teams shared possession after this but it was Sutton who created the better chances with Ben Smith hitting the post and coming agonisingly close to equalising. Pelicans keeper was on top form and thwarted everything Sutton threw at him and the half finished 1-0. Sutton started the second half like the first but it was again against the run of play Pelicans scored. The slightest of touches stranding the Sutton keeper. Pelicans then had a good spell of possession and attacked Sutton but Sutton's defence held firm with some superb tackles from Tom Baguley and tireless running from Andy Shore. Sutton were then reduced to 10 and came under even more pressure but this spurred Sutton on and they produced their best play of the match. Sutton produced a well worked short corner allowing Danny Sisson to score and when Sutton were 11 strong again they soon equalised through Ben Smith.  Sutton were now rampant and it was only a matter of time before the winner came.  Another storming run from Will Cook allowing him to lift the ball over the keeper and into the net. Sutton retained possession and this resulted in Sutton attaining victory. Man of the match Jamie Featherstone.
