Satuday 24th saw Sutton 2nd team at home to take on Peterborough 6's for the 1st league game of the season, with Sutton finishing 4th from bottom last season and the opposition finishing just below promotion it was set to be a tough game for Sutton. However the teams turned out to be quite well matched not seeing a goal until well into the 2nd half from Peterborough, it took a hard fight from Sutton to come back in the final minutes with Nick Bailey scoring from a short corner giving a well deserved 1-1 draw as the final score. James Cliff (motm) continually proved an excellent shot stopper throughout the game, also pulling off an amazing penalty flick save whilst a 2nd penalty flick was put over the bar.
