Following the disappointment of the previous weeks performance Sutton's second team returned to winning ways. The team were bouyed by the return several key players and hit the floor running with each of the forward line coming close. But it was the experienced midfielder, Jeremy Watt, who opened the scoring with a bullet of a shot at a short corner. The previous weeks complacency seemed to creep back during a 5 minute spell which saw Bourne & Deeping equalise. This was what Sutton needed to up a gear and begin to dominate the game against another side who were previously unbeaten. Assured defending from skipper Matt Holmes & Michael Donaghy aided with fluid movement and passing in midfield saw Sutton bombard the oppositions goal. This lead to Sutton regaining the intiative just before half time when 'goal machine' Ben Shore produced a comprehensive 'drag flick' into the top corner.

The second half began as the first finished with Sutton peppering the oppositions goal. A third goal soon came following a great team move allowing Shore to tap in his second. The opposition once again pulled another back. Luke Lovegrove then went close following a 'mazy' run before Man of the Match Stefan Fox and Dan Batten wrapped up the game with some clinical finishing.

Sutton now go into their next game against March on a high and looking to continue their good form.

The 2nd team would like to dedicate their win to the Taylor family and their new son Harry Nicholas John Taylor, born Saturday morning.
