Sutton returned to winning ways with a disciplined performance against a well structured Horncastle side. With a full strength side Sutton took the game to Horncastle with Jeremy Watt orchastrating things in the middle of the park, ably supported by Dan Batten and Luke Lovegrove. Following a well structured attack Nick Bailey's goal bound deflection was made sure by 'the machine' Ben Shore. Minutes later the battling Batten forced his way through the Horncastle defence and though up ended managed to use his momentum to put the ball calmly into an open net.

In the second half Horncastle showed quality and experience but were unable to breach Man of Match James Cliff's goal. Sutton continued to press and missed several chances before Bailey turned back the clock to nutmeg his marker at the top of 'D' and calmly despatch the ball into the bottom corner, to the delight of the watching crowd. Sutton travel to Boston next week in hope of building on recent good performances.
