Sutton finished the first half of the season on a high with a gritty performance at Peterborough 6ths. With the loss of several key players through illness and deserved promotion to the 1st team, Sutton were immediately on the back foot. Therefore it was a surprise that Sutton took an undeserved lead with a fine finish from Michael Donagy. Peterborough continued to press and shortly after scored 2 quick goals to go in at the break in front.

At halftime Sutton regrouped and through man of the match Connor Allen and Will Cook in the centre of the park Sutton found themselves creating clearer opportunities, with the latter, skilfully deflecting in a Nick Bailey cross. Following the equaliser the game became stretched with both teams coming close to taking the lead. But it was Sutton who in the end took their opportunities more clinically with the 'machine' Ben Shore continuing his scoring prowess firstly from a short corner and then in open play to give Sutton all 3 points with a superb drag flick. Captain Matt Holmes commented 'I was proud of the way the boys got themselves back into the game in the second half, it showed great determination and spirit against a well organised Peterborough side'

Sutton go into the new year in buoyant mood hoping to continue where they left off on Saturday.
