Sutton 3rds shared the points in a 2-2 draw with a commited Spalding 4ths team at Surfleet. Sutton started well but whilst dominating possession, with Ash Rex deserving particular mention, did not find that key pass and finish to beat the Spalding keeper in the final third of the pitch and so could not convert domination into goals. As the first half continued the game became a more open affair and Spalding had a number of chances which were well saved by Albert Slator and his defence.

Eventually Spalding took the lead, however this galvanised Sutton's young team and after good work by Man of the Match Ed White, Alex Canham found Andy Clarke who lifted the ball into the roof of the net.

The second half was also very open, and whilst both teams carved out a number of chances, with both goalies and the post coming to the rescue, it was Spalding who took the lead a few minutes from the end after a goalmouth scramble.

However Sutton did not let their heads drop and just before the final whistle, Canham picked out Scott Ingram in the 'D' to hit home a deserved equaliser. Another excellent team performance from the thirds in what was a well fought local derby.
