 This weekend saw the start of the season for Long Sutton Men's 3rd XI with a 'friendly' against local rivals Kings Lynn Pelicans. After a sluggish start and going a goal down early on in the first Half Sutton managed to draw level just before half time with a well deserved goal from debutant Ben Maris.
 
A much better second half performance with good performances from Shane Thompson & the tired legs of Luke Lovegrove saw Sutton take a 3-2 lead from two brilliant short corner routines finished by Ben Shore which left the Pelicans 4ft goal keeper wishing he was slightly taller.
 
Pelicans struck back twice in the last 10 minutes with two close range deflections to win 4-3 but all in all not a bad start to the season.
