The Long Sutton 3rds came out eventual victors, but not before a spirited comeback from the Sutton 4ths.

In stifling heat, the 3rds started well and after a number of chances took a 3 goal lead through two goals from Andy Clarke and one from Steff Fox. Fox was especially dominant in a central midfield role. The 4ths began to grow into the game towards the end of half time and were rewarded with two goals from Alex Canham and Ben Marris making the half time score 3-2.

The second half saw some end to end hockey with the both teams having some great chances but the scoreline remained unchanged following some excellent saves from Josh Thody for the 3rds and stand in keeper for the 4ths Calvin Bishop.

Two late goals from Ash Rex and a third for Andy Clarke made for a cruel final score for the 4ths but both teams showed ample promise in what were very difficult conditions.

Special mentions for the 3rds go to Andy Clarke, Steff Fox, Joshua Thody and Nick Worth whilst for the 4ths Calvin Bishop, Ed Munson and Jack Smith on his debut were impressive.
