In wet drizzly conditions at Long Sutton Astro, Suttons young 4th team fought valiantly against a very experienced Leadenham team. Under pressure for long periods of the match, the defence restricted Leadenham to a 2-0 lead at half time; not least due to the efforts of Man of the Match Calvin Bishop and Goalkeeper Josh Thody.

Sadly in the 2nd half experience and older physical strength began to tell and though they never gave up Sutton conceded regularily.

The scoreline in no way reflects the hard work and spirit with which the team played and to their credit they never gave up. George Smith should be proud of his first goal in senior hockey.
