Long Sutton 4ths went away to play at Horncastle this weekend.

Long Sutton got off to a good start, defending well, but Horncastle opened the scoring from some quick hockey. Sutton then went on the attack, earning a short which was dragged out by Calvin Bishop to Captain Matt King at the top of the D, who slipped the ball to debut player Oliver Gayford who then knocked it in to level the score.

Sutton continued defending well with Ed Munson, Nick Worth and Sam Gray working together well, whilst Ray Warrick came up with an amazing stop on the line to deny another goal.  Long Sutton continued to attack also but the Horncastle goal keeper performed excellently.

The game finished 5-1 but was much closer than the result suggests, however the experience of Horncastle gave them the winning margin. The spirit and the resolve of the Sutton 4ths was outstanding and gives them something to build on for the season.
