After a hard game last week we were hoping to make use of our home advantage. Yet another hot day, no subs, and at least half the team suffering from illness, but we were determined and had great support on the sidelines. We won the first pushback and headed for the St Neots goal. It was slow going in the heat and it took continuous pressure but after several short corners and some scrambles in the D, Lisa Baker struck the ball and deflected it off a defender to score our first goal. 1-0 to Long Sutton. We were on our way.

St Neots were strong down our right. They attacked our D and created chances, but some excellent saves from Emily Braginton and wide clearances, as well as some great defending and our halves getting back helped to keep the ball out of our goal. More drives forward led to a cracking goal from Martha to make it 2-0 at half time.

There had been a lot of running by the halves, so we had a swap round to give people a brief rest. Despite playing into the sun we continued to attack relentlessly. Soon it was Immi Cooper's turn to strike from the left to score our 3rd goal. 3-0 to Long Sutton. St Neot's regularly broke and had us sprinting back to defend, but some very good cover from Maisie Sullivan, Lisa Baker, and Tania White kept them from converting their chances.

Another attack on the St Neots goal led to them clearing it to our left. Lisa Baker was in the right place and picked it up, calmly took it just inside the D and struck it past the goalie to make it 4-0 to Long Sutton. Definitely becoming her signature move. The game ended 4-0 to Long Sutton. Everyone had worked extremely hard against the heat and illness. The commitment to keep trying to score and not concede was 100%. A very impressive performance, and a clean sheet.

Player of the match was Hannah Baker, who despite being ill managed to sprint up and down the pitch and create chances for others.
