It was the first game back after a long Christmas break. Thankfully we had a strong squad and a sub and some supporters on the sidelines. We won the first pushback and headed for the St Neots goal. Our midfield was extremely strong and we really made good use of the space to pass the ball forward left and right. As Hannah took the ball up the left, Lottie sprinted up the right wing ready to receive the cross. She was so close, but just couldn't connect with the ball.

Soon came our first short corner. The ball went to Lisa at the top of the D. She struck it cleanly to score our first goal. 1-0 to Long Sutton. Shortly after we won another short corner. The ball was passed around the D and it was Amber who got the final touch into the goal. 2-0 to Long Sutton.

Many runs were made by Hannah, Amber, Megan, Maisie and Katie all working hard to keep driving the ball forward.

Yet another short corner for us. The ball went to Hannah on the top left of the D, who made a straight strike past the keeper. 3-0 to Long Sutton. Not long before the end of the half St Neots attacked our goal. The ball went towards the bottom right corner of the goal. Emily went to clear it but her kicker got stuck and unfortunately the ball rolled in. 3-1 to Long Sutton. Half time came. 3-1 to Long Sutton.

St Neots push back to start the 2nd half. We won it back straight away, but then made it hard for ourselves. We lost our shape a bit and had to defend more. There were several collisions and a few players found themselves on the floor. Lisa collided with an opposition player and had to go off for a few minutes.

St Neots worked their way towards our D and passed the ball to the P spot. Their player hit the ball towards the goal, Lauren hit it back, but the player managed to hit it again and it went up and over Lauren and Emily and into the goal. 3-2 to Long Sutton. We kept trying and held the ball in the opposition end. We won more short corners and again Hannah received it on the top left and took a straight strike past the keeper. 4-2 to Long Sutton with only a few minutes to go.

Brilliant win for us. Player of the match was Hannah Baker for her 2 smashing shorts.
