Nomads choose their goal end so they could take advantage of the sun, so we had the first push back. Libby soon picked it up and stormed up the right wing. We kept working hard and made a lot of runs towards their goal and a lot of good long passes. Finally we were rewarded with a goal late in the first half. Well done Hannah Baker. 1-0 to Long Sutton. Half time 1-0 to Long Sutton. It hadn't been easy but we were pleased to be in front and determined to carry on.

Nomads came back strong and started determined. Within 5 minutes we were caught short at the back and they scored. 1-1. Five minutes later we faced a short corner. Lauren ran out but the ball was lifted past her. It hit Rachael and went in. We were confused as we expected it to be called a high ball, but it turned out because the ball wasn't struck it can be lifted. Disappointing, but 2-1 to Nomads. Another 5 minutes on and Nomads attacked again. There were lots of deflections across the D and Nomads got the last touch to score a third. 3-1 to Nomads. A sad end to the game after a very good first half. Player of the match was won jointly by Jess Burton and Megan Fey who worked extremely hard in the middle of the pitch.
