This week saw a reversal in fortunes for the Ladies 2s, decimated by illness Saturday morning the twos welcomed not one but four new players to the squad. With Emily Braginton making her debut as keeper on her thirteenth birthday she certainly had a lot to do today. Skegness started the brighter and they scored three quick goals as the Long Sutton team took a while to settle. The defence of Lauren Cooper, Hales and Back to Hockey player Georgie Synott took stock and got stuck in again. With the midfield working hard to retain possession Franklin and Emmy Gittins made a good run through the Skeg defence to win a short corner. Millie Laming capitalised and converted with a fabulous strike. Skeg managed to bag two more by the break and Sutton knew they were up against it. The second half saw Sutton soaking up the pressure as Skeg were thwarted by a renewed determination from the squad. Some break away attacks saw Jennie Gittins come close to adding to the Sutton scoreline. The spell was only broken when a flick was given for a body on the line. Narrowly converted by a young Skegness player Braginton had certainly had a birthday to remember. With one further goal from open play the scoreline stayed at 7 -1 and Emily Braginton earnt a well deserved Player of the Match. Report by Becky Hales.
