This Saturday, the Long Sutton ladies second team travelled away to Louth. We started strong, instantly taking the game into their defensive half, however numerous strong attacking formations and short corners failed to bag us a goal. A lucky break came from a unfortunate error from a Louth defender, clearing the ball straight into the back of the net and scoring us our first goal. We gained confidence and settled into our game and the second goal of the first half came from a great attacking play on the wing and was scored by Millie Laming. Into the second half, Louth came at our defensive with a strong attack and quick breaks, however fantastic teamwork between Lauren Cooper and Becky Hales in defence ensured a clear sheet was kept. Emmy Gittins on the wing had a fantastic game and set up the third goal scored by Alex Petty from the P spot. The final goal of the game was set up by Becky Hales, who although playing Centre back, found herself with the ball at the top of the D and fired it across to Emmy to sweep in from the goal post. Another great result for a rejuvenated ladies second team!
