Long Sutton Ladies second team played local rivals Spalding 3s at home on Saturday. They started the game strong with good attacking play from Alex Petty and Melissa Franklin, however many nearer misses failed to result in a goal for the hosting side. Spalding we quick to break and caught the defence off guard, taking a one goal lead in the middle of the first half. Spalding continued to put pressure on the Long Sutton defence, however some great saves from Emily in goal and Issy Ellis at centre back kept Sutton from conceding further. Heather Ludlam had a fantastic game on the left wing, working tirelessly to create width on the attack, however Sutton failed to equalise and the final score was 0-1.
