With no league game for either team this week, a rematch of the earlier friendly was arranged and Sutton travelled the short distance to Wisbech looking to avenge the previous 2-1 defeat.

With some unavailability Sutton were forced into a number of changes, however they were determined to keep up their 100% record for the second half of the season. Wisbech had other ideas and pushed Sutton back from the off earning themselves a short corner in the first few minutes. This was defended admirably with young GK Jasmine Smith organising the defence superbly. Wisbech continued to press, however the defence of Julie Skate, Claire Sisson, Georgina Synnott, with Becky Hales communicating just in front, were in no mood to allow Sutton to fall behind. Sutton gradually grew into the game and the mid-field of Lucy Smith, Esme Whitelam and Sarah Skate were feeding the ball to the forward line of Amelia Norey, Wendy Canham and Lorraine Wallis. Amelia Norey, growing in confidence, week on week, was making some mazy runs and the Wisbech defence were finding it difficult to deal with her. Sutton also welcomed debutants Katie Whitaker and Lillie Teggardine into the team and were able to rotate to keep the pressure on Wisbech. Mid-way through the first half Sutton won a short corner, and having practised at training on Wednesday, Amelia stepped up to inject. The ball found it's way to Sarah Skate who put the ball into the danger area just in front of the Wisbech keeper and Wendy Canham pounced to slam the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0 Sutton. Wisbech did have chances and a poor clearance out of defence found it's way to a Wisbech forward to run into the D to have a one on one with Sutton's young keeper, however it was Sutton's youngster who came out on top! The half finished with Sutton 1-0 up.

The second half continued in much the same way as the first, with Sutton dominating, Lucy Smith making some great runs from mid-field and playing some great passes into the D which Sutton were not quite able to capitalise on. Wendy Canham was running hard to ensure that Wisbech were put under pressure whenever they were in possession and Esme Whitelam was taking up some great positions and working hard. Sutton won another short corner and this time the ball was injected to Esme Whitelam who hit a great shot, and whilst there was some debate about how much of a touch Wallis had got on the ball, there was no debate that Sutton were 2-0 up with the ball finding it's way into the back of the net. Sutton continued to rotate the subs and debutants Katie and Lillie did themselves proud, playing the simple ball to ensure that Sutton retained possession. Jasmine Smith continued to repel anything that Wisbech could throw at her, however she was unlucky to concede, with Sutton tiring, the defence found themselves outnumbered, Wisbech were able to slot one past her.

Sutton saw out the rest of the game and deservedly took the derby spoils. Man of the match could have gone to a number of players but the honours were deservedly taken by Jasmine Smith who had a great game in goal. Next week Sutton return to league action with a re-arranged fixture against St Ives.
