Long Sutton Ladies 2's travelled to pastures new to take on Watton in their second friendly of the season.

The ladies arrived, to be given the team news! Jasmine Smith having played superbly on pitch last week, earning her the player of the match award, was to start in goal with veteran Wallis resigned to the bench. Sutton ladies set about taking the game to Watton, and were soon 1-0 up when a cross-come shot by Baker (stepping in to guide Sutton's youngsters) found it's way into the net. After 10 minutes Wallis came on for debutant Florence Perowne, another youngster making her debut at senior hockey, however Wallis was no match for the youngster who had a fine game. Despite this Sutton went 2-0 up when a powerful ball from Parr into the D, was met superbly by Lottie Dack, giving the young Watton keeper no chance. Sutton were using their sub well to allow fresh legs to come on. Wallis and Canham combined well up front and almost put Sutton 3-0 up but the half finished with no further goals. Jasmine Smith making a number of fine saves to ensure that this was the case.

The second half saw Wallis back to her usual position of GK and after a short break, Jasmine Smith was back on the pitch, continuing where she had left off last week with another fine performance. With a hot day and a heavy pitch, Sutton did tire, but the back line of Smith Snr, Hales, Hannah Burton and Julie Skate were in no mood to allow Watton back into the game, despite them earning a number of short corners. The midfield of Sarah Skate (back after injury), Baker and Dack played intelligently and having scored her first goal, Dack soon followed this up with her second after a fine finish. Baker put a gloss on the score-line late on with a well hit shot from the top of the D.
