Today's fixture was a crucial one for Sutton first's as they travelled away for a late push back against Harlston Magpies. The first half was an even affair and remained goalless throughout. Both teams had as many chances with Sutton have slightly more possession of the ball. Distribution around the back of defence was good, although Magpies defended their D well; minimising goal opportunities for Sutton. Attacking pressure did come in the form of short corners however, but the Magpies keeper was on excellent form and pulled out some great saves. Second half the home side came out the stronger. Sutton withstood as best they could with man of the match James Cliff in goal keeping the ball out. The tempo of the game increased and became a match full of tension. Alas however, Harleston scored the only goal of the game from a rebound. Sutton gave it everything to try and find a equaliser. They kept committing players forward and from there on had the most of the ball for the final 15 minutes. More chances came but the home team's keeper kept denying Sutton the opportunity of a come back. With so the final score remained 1-0. Huge effort and spirit during today's game. With the same performance but on another day it could have been a different story altogether.
