With 3 games left in what has been a successful season in terms of club development, Sutton entertained a Dragons side who had a similar record at the start of the day. Sutton started well and created a number of chances, all well saved by the impressive Norwich keeper. Dragons grew into the game and took the lead when an horrendous bobble off the pitch deceived Baguley allowing the Dragons centre forward to slot home. Sutton drove forward and created more chances but a mix of good saves and little luck denied them, until a well worked short corner resulted in Baker slipping Canham in to equalise. Sutton continued and it was Bakers turn to capitalise from a short corner with a drag flick to make it 2-1. With a half time lead in sight, an innocuous ball into the D from Dragons was misjudged by Harry Synott and the resulting short corner meant the scores were level at 2-2 at half time. The second half started well for Sutton with play being almost exclusively in the Norwich half and even though midfield dynamo Danny Batten retired injured 20 minutes into the half. This did not deter Sutton and it was no surprise when another short corner resulted in a well taken goal for Sam Markillie; this was followed by another short corner goal, Bakers second, after good work again from Markillie. Sutton saw out the game well and the only other excitement of note was when Canham and a Dragons defender received cards a minute from time – more time on the naughty step for the youthful team. The final score was 4-2 and a deserved victory for the side, with stand out performances from Markillie, Ellis, Burton and Captain Fox.
