After their first away win of the season last week Sutton returned home to entertain Norwich City 2's, a side they lost 4-3 to away from home earlier in the season.

The game started evenly and both sides created chances in what was an open game of hockey. Sutton if anything started to get on top of the game and the omens were good, however it was Norwich who took the lead when their trio of fast midfielders created an opportunity which was duly taken.

Sutton immediately dropped and the Norfolk side sensed bold and indeed carved open Sutton again to make it 2-0. Not the start Sutton wanted. Sutton then managed to get one back with a goal from the prolific Baker who despite suffering from cramp finished well through the keeper to make it 1-2.

The expected fightback stopped there as the away team proceeded to restore their 2 goal advantage and took the score to half time to 3-1.

Sutton were positive at half time but sadly the second half continued in much the same vein as the latter stages of the first half and the final score ended 6-1; a scoreline that did not reflect the match in that it could have been more but for some good saves from Cliff and a flick save from him also.

Sutton started the season a team who felt they could be going places – Sadly I do not think it was 3NW they were thinking of!
