On a warm muggy Saturday the mens 1st traveled to st ives off the back of a strong start to the season. Missing the likes of shore, Jackson and Taylor the team welcomed Daniel Batten, Tyler Hagan & Olly Taylor to the squad for their first league outings of the season.

Sutton started slowly and swiftly found themselves struggling to get outside their own half. Slowly starting to hold there own they found themselves 3-0 down going into half time. Disappointed in there own performance the side were determined for a fight back in the second half. The likes of batten, Sargent & fyson linked well and eventually earned there reward, a long pass from fyson to baker waiting in D who duly dispatched it the ball into the bottom corner . The rest of the second half was a stalemated affair, Sutton again struggled to get out their half but absorbed the pressure well through gray holmes oldfield & donaghy. Whilst fighting hard, St Ives would go on to score 2 more times from a short corner and a penalty flick.

Overall a disappointing afternoon for the green army men's 1s. They look to bounce back home to Cambs city mens 4s next week. Motm Dan Oldfield for continued spells of keeping the st ives forwards quiet and denying a straight site to goal. Dotd Luke Proctor for well does there need to be a reason? Something about giving the fines tin a parade around the st ives car park.
