Long Sutton mens 1st 5 city of Peterborough men's 3rds 5 Sutton set to make the perfect come back just missing out on 3 points in the closing minutes. After a week off long Sutton's men first went into the fixture with confidence welcoming 3rd placed Peterborough. A strong side of 13 welcoming back Mckenzie East for one week only the Sutton side started brightly and was first to score, Josh Baker picking up a loose ball in Peterboroughs defence strolling into the D and dispatching high into the netting. Shortly after captain Holmes game ended early only 5 minutes after a finger injury from a short corner. There isn't much to bed said for the Sutton side for the remaining first half as there bright start halted being unable to string passes together. Peterborough punished this and the half ended 4-1 Peterborough.

A brutally honest team talk and a reshuffle of formation the second half commenced. Many would've of seen the men in green to be down and out and in previous weeks the game may well of ended in 6 7 or 8s to Peterborough. It wasn't to be the case this week, Peterborough tried to hold the ball passing around the the back to which the forwards of Mckenzie East and Tyler Hagan punished there mistakes with a vengeance picking up the loose ball linking well with Nick Ellis and Brad Sargeant out wide as well as with the midfield. Chances weren't far behind and 2 minutes after the restart Josh Fyson calmly slotted home from a short corner. The fight back was on. No longer than 2 minutes later Joshua Baker added another with a nearly taken penalty flick into the top left corner swiftly followed up 30 seconds later by fysons second. Picking up the miss trap on a short corner going round first two runners and simply tapping into the back board. So 15 minutes into the second half and the scores were all level Sutton were more than back in the fight and it was now Peterborough who looked down and out. With the midfield and forward line still too much to handle for Peterboroughs defence quick taken long corner from Josh Baker and a neat reverse from Josh fyson long Sutton retook the lead. It was about this that Peterborough woke up and started to play hockey starting to make their way into the Sutton half and for the majority of the half they were given no opportunity with keeper James Cliff and defence of Micheal Donaghy, Dan Oldfield & Sam Gray swiftly dulling any fast counters attacks that may of come their way. It must be said that when needed the whole side pulled together to defend and were unfortunate to concede with less than 3 minutes to play. Sutton did have one final throw of the dice with one last short corner in the dying moments of the game which came to no aveil.

Game ended in story of 2 halves with a 5-5 draw. Abitter sweet moment salvaging a point and narrowly missing out on 2 more. Motm Josh Fyson for his hard work and determination all over the pitch and a fine hatrick to see the team on there way. Dotd Sam Gray for helping Peterborough to there one of there goals in the first half. Special mention must go to Mckenzie East and Tyler Hagan who came ever so close to picking up man of the match themselves for there hard work in creating the chances and shot corners that ultimately got us the goals. Oh and of course it cannot go with out mention to Michael Donaghy for narrowly missing out on Dotd for taking the scenic route to the long Sutton via Peterborough's pitch first
