Long Sutton produced a 2nd half comeback to keep alive  their hopes of avoiding relegation in Div 3NW. Sutton opened poorly continuing the lacklustre form of the previous week with poor decision making and a lack of movement. The home team worked hard and moved quickly into a two goal lead, Sutton did pull one back when Gary Hales brought a moment of composure to proceedings as he calmly slotted home from a tight angle. CoP then added to their lead with a third just before the interval.

A factual team talk and a couple of tactical changes sent a more focused visiting team out who quickly began to play with more passion and intelligence. Will White was instrumental in midfield both creating and taking responsibility defensively. The comeback began when the ball arrived with Nick Ellis on the back post who was able to slot hope. The hosts continued to gain short corners but Simon Clarke and Adam Taylor made good on their promise to keep them out, usually with their feet…….. The equaliser came from Luke Jackson with "the best call of my life" when the ball was slipped from a short corner and driven home from an angle. Dan Oldfield then vitally cleared a goalbound shot mirroring his outstanding achievements on the cricket pitch!. As the game reached a conclusion Sutton were looking for a winner which came after a move down the right from Ellis and Jackson saw Josh Baker  knocked the ball home  to complete his and the teams  Jekyll and Hyde performance. Will Taylor enjoyed his best game so far for the 2nd team but man of the match was Will White for his most complete performance of the season.
