The first home game of the season saw a couple of changes. With Matt and Jack Bragginton away, Jake Loweth and Matt Holmes were welcomed in their place. The first half got underway and from the off Sutton had the control. Fyson and Harrison in the middle linked up well with the wide men and chances were created but not converted. as the half reached its midpoint the game turned into a stalemate of end-to-end gameplay with both sides being unable to capitalise in front of goal although Sutton wasn't one to not give Cambs the opportunity with multiple short corners being given away of which were little threat when executed. Finally, with 5 minutes of the first half left Josh Fyson took the lead from Sutton with a reverse into the bottom corner.

The second half was a much more organised affair from Sutton and 10 minutes into the second half they doubled their lead from Fyson scoring from a short corner. From the 2nd goal going in Sutton constantly knocked on the door with Hagan and Proctor adding goals to the tally and were unfortunate not to add more and with 5 minutes to play Cambridge added a goal which could only act as a consolation goal.
