Long Suttons 2nd team entered this fixture knowing it would be the toughest game to date, a 2-hour car ride into the Northamptonshire countryside found us at Kettering's pitch which had a fairly unanimous vote within the team for having an awful bounce to it. This allowed Kettering to apply pressure within the early stages with the defence being tested but holding firm. once Sutton settled and got used to the pitch they came into the game and soon the "blonde maestro" Josh Fyson added two quick goals to the tally.

The second half consisted of Sutton being denied by Kettering's keeper on many occasions, denied by a Sutton body on one occasion and denied by the umpires on another when a Hagan cross inside the D was chipped over the keeper by a defender which after discussion was disallowed. in between times a good tackle and bad choice of pass to the strikers stick found back into the game with 15 to play. with a hard-fought battle from the defence, all the way through to the forwards Sutton was able to grind out 3 points to continue their 100% win recordĀ
