MATCH REPORT
LSHC Mens' Second v Cambridge South 3s
Played Away on 26th January 2019The side always knew a trip to Cambridge comes with doubts. Its always a side that produces better results at home than away. It was also a mix up of players out and in this week for the squad with defenders Adam Taylor and Simon Clark back into the fold but sadly Brad Sargent called up to work duties and Charlie Roberts out with illness.
However all this considered the side were thrilled with a 3-0 win. A clean sheet truly deserved by Matt Braginton in goal who was utterly faultless all game. Josh Ripley, Si Clark and Jack Braginton all breaking down Souths strike force and MOM Adam Taylor showing an outstanding performance defensively and driving the play forward. Jimmy Harrison praised by the squad with an impressive mid-air, goal-line save from a South Short Corner helping with the final score line.
It would be Josh Fyson who would open the score with a thunderous reserve hit from the top of the D. 1-0 Sutton.
This was closely followed within minutes by Luke Jackson who dived in at the back post from a perfectly struck hit from Jimmy Harrison. 2-0 Sutton.
To finish the first half in style Fyson would add his second from a beautifully placed, drag flick off a Sutton Short Corner. 3-0 Sutton.
Both sides with no goals in the second half showed how much the teams were fighting for a change in the games history but it would be Sutton who prevail with the win and a clean sheet too. Great team work!
