On the back of good wins in previous weeks the travelling Sutton side where met by a fitter younger st ives squad. The side were slow to grow into the game and faced some intense pressure but 10 minutes in they soon found their feet and soon were rewarded through a josh Fyson reverse stick strike. Controversy struck too minutes after when fouls weren't given Suttons way and the ball found itself in the Sutton goal only to be overturned moments later. Spurred on the tide soon changed into one-way traffic Jeremy watt and jimmy Harrison both working well to get the ball to josh Fyson and forwards luke Jackson and Fraser watt. The hard work soon told when Fraser watt tapped a rebounded proctor strike into the goal for his first green army goal since transferring. 5 minutes later Josh Fyson added his second to the game from open play then luke Jackson added another to the tally with 5 minutes left in the half, an excellent long ball from Jeremy watt found Jackson who reverse swept the ball past the approaching keeper. Knowing that st ives would have legs on the older Sutton side in the second half a more defensive display followed in the second half. Little is to be said of the second half only st ives gaining a consolation goal with 7 minutes to play as Sutton legs tired but credit to the side for a strong defensive performance from all players. They hope to repeat the same as they have there eyes on taking 3rd place from opponents march next week Mom Fraser and Jeremy watt both had stellar games Jeremy with hard work in defence getting long balls forward to create chances and Fraser for always being a threat in front of the st ives goal.
