Long went into the fixture looking for three points but was ultimately the hosts that would take it. The game started with end to end hockey with neither side looking likely to score. As the half went on it was Leadenham who would start the scoring after converting a short corner with a well placed flick into the top left corner. After this Sutton came out the blocks fighting and soon were also awarded with a string of short corners which resulted in a penalty flick which Jack Smith converted. half ended 1-1. During the team talk Sutton felt they would make the next half there's but with just 11 they soon tired and went from attacking play to more defensive as the half went on with excellent work from Ed Munson and Jack Braginton. As the half came to a close Leadenham converted from a goal mouth scramble to give them the lead. Sutton fought hard for a point in the remainder of the half but with tiring legs in the third team and leadenham using three subs to full effect it wasn't to be. A disappointing game for the third team who weren't playing the hockey the had showcased in the very beginning of the season player of the match this week goes to Mckenzie East who had his first league game for the 3s and settled into the game excellently and of many occasions could hassle the leadenham defence.
