Long Sutton's 3rd team started this new season under a new captain Jack Smith and got off to a great start. We played Bourne Deeping 6ths at home and managed to get a 7-1 win. We started the match strong as Bourne only had 10 men for the start of the match and the man missing was there Goalkeeper and Sutton used this opportunity. Adam Pack was able to get two goals for us and then to follow was Joshua Woodrow getting one himself in his first men's games and he did not disappoint. After these Bournes keeper showed up and Captain Smith was able to get a goal for himself. We had Dan Oldfield and Ian white working together in the middle giving great balls and making the passes we needed which got McKenzie East the last goal of the first half. In the second half George and Charlie worked well together down the left leading for each other and passing around players. We did concede one in this half but every other shot on goal was saved by James Cliff. Our defence stood strong on their attacks with Jon Goodley holding down the centre Ed Munson on the right and Jeremy Smith as the sweeper. Ian White was able to get his goal in second half. We were awarded a penalty flick and Jack Smith stepped up to take it and it was saved by the keeper, but shortly after Dan was able to score and make the total to seven for long Sutton. MOM was awarded to Josh Woodrow for having a great first game and getting his first goal. We are looking forward to a good rest of the season in the 3rd team.
