MATCH REPORT
LSHC Mens' Third v Alford and District 2s
Played Home on 27th October 2018The men's 3s faced a cold windy wet game on Saturday but they pull together as a team and played together how a team should do. We were playing Alford 2s and felt confident going into the game. The defence was strong at the start of the game blocking passes and cutting out players and making it hard for them to attack our goal and then also helped get the ball to our midfield and this helped us in attacks and winning free hits up the pitch. We had short corner attacks and open play attack in the first half and through there Mark Ridington was able to score one in the bottom corner for the second week running. This put Sutton in a good place. Though many attacks Alford were able to put on past Sutton's defence and tied the game. This lead Sutton to want to retake the lead. Stealing from our defensive line George Neale made a tackle and came out with the ball then making a run down the right side getting past a few players passes to Josh Woodrow who gives it one touch around a defender right to Ian White waiting to put it away and this took us to 2-1 at halftime. In the second half Sutton had a few attacks and did not let them get close to our D and with 10 minutes left to play the ball was played into Alford's D and players scrambled to try and get rid of it, but the ball once again found its way to Ian White who just made sure we had the lead and made the game. Finish 3-1 to Long Sutton.
