First game of the session was a difficult start withdrawing on players from within the club so we could field 11 players to play Peterborough 7s. Although, it was our first game it would appear that none of the players had lost their skills from the previous year and worked extremely well as a team.

The first part of the game was end to end and both teams not giving a quarter Unfortunately, Peterborough opened the scoring midway through the first half the team dug in well with some good team play and managed to equalise with a well earned scored goal from Daniel Simpson. The second half again was hard fought but with some great attacking play we eventually won a short corner. The ball was fed in by Mckenzie to Luke Procter who hit a well struck shot which was saved by the keeper , however he kicked it as his own defender which bounced off and put the ball in the goal. From there on Peterborough attacked hard which meant we were able to counter and with a fine pass across the box left Matt Braginton to be able to score the ball home for our 3rd goal.

In the later stages of the second half Peterborough were able to score but again with some good team play from Long Sutton. Luke Procter managed to hit a superb reverse shot which beat the keeper and re-established our 2 goal advantage.

Due to having only 11 players and no subs everyone put in a massive effort especially in the heat of the day and I was extremely proud of the teams performance.
