Another late pushback on a chilly day for the thirds away against St Ives 4s. Sutton started tentatively as St Ives set out their intentions from the start. Fast down the wings and strong at the back, St Ives put Sutton under pressure immediately. Jack Smith getting in some crucial touches to prevent a shot on goal and Alfie Braginton being called into action on numerous occasions. Despite this it was Sutton who scored first from a deft cross from Daniel Simpson into G. Hales. There was some promising build up play by Croxford, Simpson and Simpson but St Ives had a squad with legs. The first St Ives goal came from a quick break that left Sutton's defence scrambling and at 1-1 it looked like the afternoon was going to be tough.

Despite tireless work from Josh Smith, Jake Simpson and Ed Munson a second goal followed St Ives first in the same fashion. Player of the Match Kieron Forest worked up and down and across the pitch scooping up and squashing attacks where possible and his determination kept Sutton in it. Norey had a clutch of runs that were cut out before the D as St Ives used their angels and Sutton quite simply didn't. Half time and all was still to play. Ed Hales won some crucial short corners but they weren't converted. It was St Ives who sealed their win with another well worked goal leaving Sutton a little deflated having worked so hard throughout.
