The rain was possibly the most consistent element of the Mens thirds game against Kettering on Saturday. While Sutton had a predominantly youthful side, Kettering did not. The first fifteen saw several of our youngsters battered by balls and bodies. Despite this they kept battling and running. With Norey, Perowne, Bartlett and E Hales rotating in the midfield to provide defensive cover and accelerate away when the advantage went their way, Sutton had legs. Kieron Forest was once again giving his all in the middle of the pitch. Milnes once again used his pace to chanel the faster attacks into safety and at half time it was still 0-0.

After a reminder to keep things simple and play for each other the team took to the pitch again. Adam Pack had some promising runs and Troy Croxford was unlucky not to get an outcome but the pressure was continuing to build on the Sutton defence. The only goal of the game came from a short. Braginton saved but the rebound off his pad somehow found its way into the goal. Despite the teams best efforts the score line remained 1-0 Kettering. Lots to work on and continue to develop, next week we go again. POM Kieron Forest
