Sutton's youngsters were always struggling against a classy, experienced Spalding side. With only six survivors from the previous week's fixture, a wholesale reshuffle was called for, with some players getting the chance to shine in new positions. Opportunity knocked for Alvin Kan, made his senior debut for the club. He filled in at left back and got better and better as the game went on. Tyler Hagan put in a great performance in goal, but was powerless to stop the visitors mounting a commanding half time lead. Conceding only a further three in the second half, Sutton were improving all the time with some great work from Ed Munson, Pavel Saponenko and Harry Braggington, which gives hope for better days as the season unfolds.
