Long Sutton ladies 2's took the prime slot on the Astro and what a game it turned out to be. With 3 players making their debut into adult league hockey, Long Sutton had a great mixture of youth and experience. The experienced back of Smith, Hales, Grosvenor and Skate with Parr just in front kept Bourne Deeping at bay in the early stages of the match but it wasn't long before Sutton settled and took the game to Bourne Deeping. The debutant Hoyles belying her years dictated things in the middle of the park ably supported by Dack and Swindales who were finding the willing running of Cooper up front alongside another debutant of Smith (jnr) who was extremely tenacious and again belied her years. When Cooper had run herself into the ground, another debutant, Norey stepped onto the pitch and continued in the same vain. The first half was extremely even with Sutton having a number of great attacking moves which were dealt with well by the experienced Bourne Deeping keeper. Sutton's keeper Wallis was also occasionally called into action, to keep the game even. One such occasion proving that you should never celebrate a goal until the ball has actually crossed the line. Half-time and all square at 0-0.

In the second half, Sutton began to tire a little, however, every player continued to give 120% and they were able to keep the opposition at bay, and again create attacks of their own. Cooper going extremely close on a number of occasions. Sutton had to see out a number of short corners in the second half with the defence resolute and the game ended even. A great start for such a young team and a performance that they can be extremely proud of.

Player of the match could have gone to any number of players but in the end was awarded to Jasmine Smith who had an amazing game on pitch, in her senior debut.
