This week Long Sutton ladies 2s travel away with an amazing 13 ladies to Wisbech 3s Well what can I say, this team is always up for the challenge ahead and I must say they never disappoint. Wisbech came out strong and the defenders stood their ground a fought back forcing them out of the goal area. This week we welcomed back Claire from having her lovely baby only 10 weeks ago. She played like she'd never been away, keeping the defenders in check. Penny worked tirelessly distributing the ball around the pitch to to Pippa and Katie who then passed it up to Annabelle,Alison,Chantil and Aimee. Having many shots on goal and Pippa just missing out by a hair's whisker. With minutes to go in the first half Wisbech managed to get though out defence and scored the first goal of the match.

The second saw the return to Lillie who was u able to make the first half so with fresh legs on the pitch the team pushed forward and was awarded a short corner. We had been practicing new routines in training this week so we gave them ago and with a great routine Katie scored her first goal of the season, this took the score 1-1. Ellie our goalie who battled on after getting hurt in the warm up worked hard running out of the goal line and pushing the Wisbech team out of the D.

Lexi one of our defenders had some great runs up the line defending our goal brilliantly. Claire,Julie,Lexi and George worked together defending our goal but with being faced with a lot of defensive short corner Wisbech start to get though and managed to score another 4 goal in a short space of time. The score did not reflect the performance of this game at all. Each week this team go out and give 110% and improve their performance.

We will look forward to a home match next week where the Ladies 2s take on Newmarket 3rds. POTM This week went to Katie Whittaker for her tireless running and well-taken goal.
