After two weeks off the long Sutton ladies traveled to my home town of Ely. The ladies were well and truly up for the match, as Wednesday was a great nights training session the ladies had a few things to try out.

We started the first half gaining most of the possession, moving the ball round the pitch and making Ely work hard to get the ball. Penny,Lillie and Katie work extremely hard to move the ball up the pitch where Annabelle was ready and waiting to slip her way passed the opposition. We had plenty of chances but we didn't succeed but they were getting closer every time. Alison, and Aimee work tirelessly to get the ball working to our advantage. Penny ran the ball up the pitch passing it around she then received it back and banged it into the back of the goal, it was a great goal!

Ely was playing well and gained the ball back. Julie,Holly, Sarah and George worked tirelessly at the back but Ely managed to get a goals passed them in the first half. We started again as it was 1-1, we were in with a chance but Ely soon got another goal. Long Sutton would not be defeated they quickly passed the ball up the pitch by Lillie who passed it to Aimee. Chantel was waiting in the D she saw her chance and manoeuvred the ball so eloquently and slipped it passed the goalie. 2-2.

This raised the Long Sutton hope! With Ellie being back this week after her injuries she was in fine form, I've never heard her so vocal, Lorraine would have been proud of her. Long Sutton working hard still with Sarah working hard to keep the ball out we worked end to end but unfortunately Ely was to gain another goal. Long Sutton battled to the very end trying to put another goal in but the end came the result was 3-2 to Ely.

A great game by everyone, we used our trading and moved well, we will go again next week. We are gain confidence as a team and I am looking forward to seeing this teams progression as the season progresses. Well done Ladies! POTM Annabelle (Well deserved)
