Sutton took their second win on the bounce this Saturday with a rugged performance against old foes Magpies. Both teams started at a similar pace, probing and testing to find any weaknesses. Dan Batten was his usual busy self using his pace to good use up and down the right wing. It was Sutton who broke the deadlock, Cook drove into the D , span on a six spence and smashed the ball home to put the Green Army ahead. Sutton couldn't quite find their rhythm but great defensive work from Taylor, Baguley and Fox kept Magpies at bay. Magpies were offered a life line as a flick was surprising awarded which they converted to level things up. Sutton started to gel and a fine passing move involving Harrison, Shore and Cook allowed Hales to tap into an open goal to give Sutton the lead at half time 2-1. Sutton came out stronger and more organised in the second half and it proved successful as they created more chances whilst limiting Magpies to minimal attempts on the Sutton goal. Ben Shore continued his rich vein of form by extending Sutton's lead with another lovely finish and finally Fyson got a much deserved chance, after a solid performance, from the flick spot to put Sutton 4-1 up. He slammed it home and Sutton saw the game out for the 3 points. A solid performance but still more to come from the boys in green.
