Sutton hosted an exciting 11 goal thriller against so far an undefeated Shefford and Sandy side. The visitors were the first to get on the score sheet early in the first half, with some fast, accurate passing that put the Sutton defence under pressure. However a neat deflection from striker Ben Shore raised Sutton hopes and levelled the score to 1 all. Shefford and Sandy once again went ahead but Sutton too were beginning to create more chances themselves. Success seemed to be coming for Sutton down the left hand side; where 2 more Sutton deflections from Featherstone and Whatling brought the first half to a close with the home side 3-2 up. Sutton increased the goal difference with a fantastically executed short corner routine adding Will Cook to the score sheet. Shefford kept themselves in touch by scoring one of their own in open play. 4-3. Josh Fyson added one for himself from another well worked short corner routine. However, the away side kept pressing the ball high and well which unfortunately found a few mistakes from the home side which were capitalised upon; bringing the scores level once again. A last goal from the visitors sadly was enough to clinch the points. Overall another hard fought game. Report by Fred Whatling.
