Sutton travelled to Wapping for the last game before the Christmas break, looking for a good end to the first half of the season. After a minor technical glitch on the A1, the Green Army descended upon the Olympic Park. The game started evenly matched, Sutton then lost Baguley with an eye injury, and whilst he was being treated on the side of the pitch, Featherstone pulled up with a muscle injury. With two men down, Wapping then took control of the game and scored from a short. With time ticking on, Wapping extended their lead in the first half, by scoring their second goal. 2-0 half time, Batten sustained a muscle injury also, which gave opportunity to Big John Goodley to make his first team debut. Good defence work from White, Baguley and Fox, kept Wapping away from the Sutton goal and tireless running down the right wing from MOTM Harry Synnott, meant that Sutton created some chances of their own, but were unfortunately unable to convert. Final score 2-0, Sutton saw this as an opportunity lost and look to start the next half of the season on their front foot.
